I started my first water-only fast 4 days ago, so this is timely.

This is going to be awesome - a few buddies to do this with.

I've huge willpower - I'm now on Day 4 and can definitely see myself getting to day 21 at least, and maybe 30, but for now, taking it one day at a time.

I am in Hong Kong, so my ability to get a physician to supervise my fast is nil.
But I've got a lot of fat reserves, so I think I'll be ok.

I did a baseline assessment in both the hospital and the gym - full blood workup, and at the gym did one of those fitness scans where they use a machine to weigh you, get your fat ratio, muscle and fat composition ratios vs. average/target, etc.

I've been intermittent fasting for 2 months to get ready.

I am an American who has lived in China for the past decade, and my weight ballooned from 170 to 250 during that time, primarily based on the horrible modern Chinese diet. My ingestion of pollutants from highly toxic air, water, and foods must be through the roof as well. The traditional Chinese diet was super healthy, but that's long gone. Now all food is chemicalized, GMOed, sprayed with the world's most toxic pesticides, and grown in heavy-metal-tainted soils. Top that off with heavily processed carbs, and now China is in the midst of a health crisis that parallels the USA's. I cannot even find brown rice in the whole country of China ... only white rice. People looked at me funny when I tried to find brown rice in China, because they consider it "poor peasant food". Oh, what I wouldn't give for such peasant food.
