Seriously, are you people ignoring the toxic polluted world we live in?!

Boyd Haley, former chair of the chem dept of the U of KY, says a hormone receptor for our stress response system--ACTH, FSH, etc--holds onto mercury about as well as anything can. He goes on to explain that silver Amalgam fillings containing 50% mercury will off-gas significant levels of mercury vapor.

The levels of Hg in the blood from 6-10? fillings are similar to the low levels of ACTH coming from the pituitary as part of stress response.

It is no wonder that so many people in heavy metal detox groups report symptoms of adrenal fatigue/insufficiency and gains when taking reasonable amounts of support.

Don't forget that there is a big difference between the adrenal cortex and adrenal medulla. The former produces cortisol, progesterone, DHEA, etc and hormones upstream from production of sex hormones.

The A. medulla produces adrenaline-like chemicals that tend to amp us up.

Detox consultant, A Cutler, PhD Chem, says mercury affects the production of adrenal cortex hormones more than those from the adrenal medulla.

This is so consistent with the symptom lists we see in the detox groups--poor stress tolerance, fatigue, but too amped up and anxious to sleep right, frequent urination, messed up sex hormones and female "cycle," "estrogen dominance" as the body tries to keep up with demand for stress related hormones and neglects production of sex hormones.

I'm not claiming that everyone has a heavy metal problem.

A person may have had gall bladder removed or gastric bypass or doesn't make enough lipase, and so is low in cholesterol.

Maybe the person is lacking in vitamins (B5) and minerals (zinc, etc) needed to convert various hormones and chemicals.

Maybe the person is living a toxic high stress lifestyle.

Maybe there was some autoimmune reaction against the adrenal gland or the person was in an auto accident with damage to head--pituitary & hypothalamus or low levels of antioxidants--vitamin C-- that allowed damage to adrenals.

Maybe the person is required to get a yearly flu shot that contains organic mercury--thimerosal--as a preservative. ( Big Pharma likes to present "solutions" such as vaccines that later cause additional problems and sales of psych meds, etc--SOBs)

I assume the list could go on.

I appreciate the reminder about eating a healthy diet. We are bombarded by advertisements of unhealthy products. However please don't oversimplify a complex situation.
