I don't believe God makes the decision for us, but I believe He channels our direction in our day to day life. A couple of examples...

From your post: "One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. [Acts 16:14]"

Notice that God did not decide for her...He just helped her to pay attention to what was said.


Much like Jonah who didn't want to go to Ninevah, but God caused events to happened (fish swallowed him) to where Jonah had to consider that it was something he needed to do.

I believe God is Sovereign enough to allow us some wiggle room with our decisions in life and yet His will be done.
