No one should go into taking a treatment thinking that it's going to cure them of their tinnitus symptoms. I think the problem is that a lot of people just want it gone and they're desperately searching for something that will completely eliminate it, which we all know to be nonexistent. What I think needs to be the main focus of tinnitus sufferers is to work on managing the symptoms.
