I've worked through 30-day fasts because I didn't want to quit my job to do the fast.

Also any long vacation I take won't include fasting and lying around in bed. I love to travel and would rather not waste my money on "retreats" lying around doing nothing while listening to New Agey music.

My fasts in the past have done what I wanted them to do - get fat off my body. I had no other motivation. It works like a charm while still living your life.
