I believe in feeding raw. Kibble is dehydratng to cats plus processed to death. Studies have found cats will never drink enough water to make up for the lack of it in kibble. Leading to kidney issues long term. Canned is not great either except it has a lot of moisture and can be found lower in carbs than kibble. Even grain free kibble has way too many carbs, like Instinct grain free which uses tapioca starch to hold it together. Adding up the percentages fat, protein and other ingredients, I was shocked how high the carbs were.. I make cat food at home using meat, liver, kidney, heart, eggs, eggshell powder for calcium (not using bone/bone meal since it is loaded with fluoride in the US) etc.
