Thanks for the post. I'm currently trapped in Xanax 'hell'. Was prescribed Xanax for panic attacks 5 years ago. After three years was able to stop the Xanax. Six months ago started to wake up in the middle of the night, after taking a drink of water got 'chill's. Progressed to full blown IBS, nausea, cramps, ect. New doctor prescribed Xanax. I'm now sick during the day with 'pre' panic attack symptoms along with the nighttime IBS. I firmly believe the IBS is related to the initial Xanax withdrawal and the new daytime anxiety, panic attack symptoms, to taking the Xanax. I'm about to start tapering off the Xanax and will try the charcoal.After the initial withdrawal I had no idea Xanax would linger in my system a year later.
