If America as a democracy is no more, count me as one genuinely happy with this part of the news.

That never was the essence of what made America great. The notion is a sham that it represented Americans at large.

In its origins the essence of Ametica's greatness was that the public at large had the freedom to be left alone, especially left alone not as some imaginary group but as individuals in pursuit of not wanting constantly hassled by politicians while pursuing simple fundamental happiness in life. Except for the every 4 years program the average self-sufficient-minded American pribably did not care about being constantly entangled in what the government was doing day in and day out. That essence of America's greatness was tainted by the 1860's and since then the essence so-called has been a revolving door churning out tooty-fruity flavors of "greatness" that in recent years has increasingly favored fruity. The private interests of international fruitcakes have officially been controlling the money power of America for 101 years and running and greater Europe/England far longer for crying out loud ..... Republican-controlled SCOTUS taking a decided turn for the worse circa 1980's my ass.
