If your mom wants to talk, listen to her. While she may not say so, she is probably speaking from experience. Listen and let her finish. Then it is your turn.

When your mom offers advice, she deserves your respectful attention. After all, she has probably at least seen and possibly experienced anything that you might be going through or may go through in the future.

After listening, it may be a good thing to honestly open up to her about your issues and concerns. A good friendship or relationship is rarely based on not discussing things or on not sharing.
