In my case, celiac disease has been known to cause peeling or fissured lips. I also have a DNA abnormality that can be activated by stress and food sensitivities (which could be the gluten sensitivity). If others have this DNA abnormality, then stress can activate it. I also know that the drug Accutane causes this DNA abnormality. Not saying this is the cause, but stress can activate many conditions. So, it may be more stress related. And I can see how meditation helps with stress.
