No change in frequency of periods (still coming according to the lunar cycle here),
but Iodine did jumpstart my menses at the end of may!
I suffer/ed from anemia, and it creates very short-duration menses.
I was supplemention Lugol's in the days leading up to the period, had normal bleeding, forgot a few day's iodine, bleeding stopped.
Restarted the Iodine drops, bleeding restarted!
Re the lengthening of menstrual cycle-
intuition tells me possible issues of the pituitary/pineal gland?
Have you addressed flouride issues yet with it's displacer, boron? Reccommended as cofactor of Iodine supplementation.
Boron is known as a primer of female hormone receptors and upping estrogen production..
Also oddball, but I was treating a cat in heat who had major fungal issues in the skin with lugol's, fat-soluable vitamins and boron.
Her heat symtoms would -soar- after patting down her back with ted's mange remedy (2 tblsp borax diluted in 1L water with 15drops 35% hydrogen peroxide).
Forget not thou the role of vit A in menstrual health! Wombat's threads on vitamin A and the integrity of mucosal membranes are very helpful - especially on the topic of high vit A supplementation relieving excessive PMS and menstrual bleeding. Normalizes these excesses, helps also in cases of continual nosebleeds.
