I really felt moved to reply to the comment that no one has ever been cured of cancer using conventional therapy. My Dad is 75 yrs old (2015). He was diagnosed with testicular cancer when he was a young man of 36. They removed his testicle & opened his chest up to remove all his lymph nodes (which was standard thinking at the time) along with a rough cycle of chemo spread out over 2 yrs. The chemo drugs they used at that time were no walk in the park. My sis & I were little kids: 6 & 10. The on wks of chemo I remember he walked around w/ a bucket. When that wks cycle ended he got his appetite back & made the most of it while he could eat. He has been cancer-free almost 40yrs now! To me that counts as a cure! I believe in diet and alternative medicine. but please do not be so quick to dismiss conventional medicine altogether & say false statements that no one has been cured. My sis & I could have grown up without a Dad if he did not pursue the treatments (surgery & chemo) that were available to him at the time. He has a nice, happy full life watching us & his 3 grandkids grow up. He worked full-time up until he retired at 70. I believe in both alternative & conventional treatments. They all have their place & they are all created by God, thru us humans, to help each other the best way we know how. I also believe we, as humans, do not have all the answers. We do the best we can with the knowledge we have at the time. I don't believe using broad, sweeping statements (such as: no one has been cured of cancer thru conventional treatments, or if someone says: alternative therapy is a bunch of bull) helps anyone. People should not be made to feel bad about the decision they make & the road they choose to go down. Alternative therapies helps some and
conventional therapies helps some; and sometimes it's a combination of both. We are all individuals, so what works for one may not work for another. I'm thankful to God & my Dad's doctors for CURING him of testicular cancer. He did have a basal cell skin cancer removed from his forehead last yr (2014) without incident; no further treatment needed. Other than that he has had no other cancers since his original treatment 39yrs ago. As I see it Science and medicine are also created by God..thru humanity, which has discovered and created many things (good & not so good). Its all pieces of the same puzzle. I also acknowledge that humanity can be corrupt at times and greedy..and that's where the problem can come in as well. I'm thankful for all the brilliant minds God created who help us along by providing knowledge for our journey here. I find being open to all possibilities (and of course doing research into whatever path is taken) is more helpful than shutting the door without having the correct information. Factual information or statements seem hard to come by on the internet. All real world, legitimate experiences are valid & should be taken into account when making a life-changing decision such as which cancer treatment(s) one should choose. My sis has been recently diagnosed w/ breast cancer. She is 48. She is struggling with which path she will take for treatment. This is a gut-renching decision she (&anyone w/cancer) is faced with. She is torn especially about chemo. Support, guidance, love, understanding & compassion is what people with cancer need..not judgement, criticism, mis-statements or exaggerations; in either direction. She may end her time on this earth too soon no matter what she decides. Whose to say what is 100% right or wrong?! That's the problem..none of us know for sure, unless we have a crystal ball. Unfortunately I do not, but I would love to so I could lift this burden of having to decide what to do from her. If anyone reads this-no matter what the opinion is of what I said-Thank You! I just wanted to give another perspective & my family's real life experience known to anyone searching for help with cancer. Wishing everyone well :-)
