Not sure if this might help.

Your dream made me think that when we have a lose or traum. Whe sometimes whant to put the pieces together and understand the why of what have happened. When we are in pain we do that over and over again.
But as sometimes it is said "there are things in our life that we will never understand the why"

We just need to accept and move on. Not easy for sure.
