dr brownstein and the rest of the Iodine project know what they are talking about. they still have licenses to protect and that gives them some, imho undue, reason for caution. no problem. they still make it work.
i caught on to this whole higher dosage thing for several reasons. one was when dr brownstein was talking about using vitamin C to repair uptake inhibition at 50mg and then, almost as an aside, he says that increasing the dosage would also do the same thing. ding ding ding ding ding! and then our own experiments with gram doses, both vulcanel and i. and thennnnn, the beautiful wombat began digging up the most fascinating info about how Iodine used to be used and ran across numerous documentations of using large doses of iodide, the largest being 10 grams.
then there is the dosage at pubmed for pima. prescription SSKI syrup used for an expectorant that any doctor could prescribe if he wanted - highest dose for adults being 600mg four times a day.
last but not least there is a tale out there about a guy who accidently drank a solution of KI his sister or close person had in their fridge. it was estimated that he ingested about 60 grams of KI all at once. he survived but not without much misery and some time spent recovering.
100mg of Iodine a day is really nothing. and note, in the past these high doses had only benefits, no drawbacks that we could find. just praise for their efficacy. sold secretly in dr ayers sarsaparilla tonic by the 8 oz bottle with millions of sales and thousands of testimonials, there was 750mg of KI in every ounce of tonic. people raved about it.
people are afraid of nothing.
