Please refrain from making mindless robotic comments. The cop had a quota and he was under pressure to meet it. They all are. Speed traps are making cities millions of dollars every year from traffic tickets.

The cops soften the big soakers by writing you a ticket for going 70 instead of 80 so you won't hate them as badly, but that just means you are pleading guilty to going a speed that you were not really going. You lie for them out of gratitude to save yourself some money. White lie, or conditioning?

Why wouldn't they fudge a little on the upside if they haven't met their quotas?

There are two things a judge is required to consider when sitting in judgement: The letter of the law and the intention of the law makers. Do you really think the law makers intended for the government to use speed traps as an alternative form of taxation? I don't. I think they wrote the law to protect the public. And if Trapper was driving home with his precious angel grandchild asleep in the back seat, I am sure he was driving as cautiously as humanly possible.

All that "are you in a hurry?" crap is more conditioning, hypnotic suggestion. They are prepping us to take it deeper and deeper up the ying yang backwards without any butter every chance they get and people are so complacently submissive they don't even realize they have become masochistic. Policing for profit is unethical. It is highway robbery. There is very little difference in that than the stage coach bandits of the wild wild west. It wouldn't surprise me if cops are all reincarnated thieves.

Problem is, they are getting paid pitifully small wages to rob the public and give it to the government so their bosses can skim the profits and embezzle. And that which doesn't get embezzled goes where? How much you wanna bet the judge's street gets paved before the cop's does?
