I was reading an article about people in third world countries taking high Iodine without any detox reactions. The docs are saying the reason is that they're not exposed to the bromine/fluorine/chlorine chemicals like we are here in America, especially.

So, it's possible after you detox from all the halogens you'll be okay without other supplements. I would still take at least selenium if you're using a high dose of iodine.
