An observation I made while reading the scientific papers on optimox.com is that, when the doctors of 100 years ago were recommending high amounts of Lugol's to patients for nearly everything, there were few side effects and the patients were NOT taking the companion nutrients. It appears as though they were just taking iodine.

Perhaps we don't necessarily need the companion nutrients?
