I was in the same shape, doctors prescribing Flovent, Dulera, Ventolin. The price for these are debilitating, > $200 for Flovent & Dulera, so I had started ordering these medications from Canada, where Flovent cost 3 for $90 compared to 3 for $660 at the drug store. However I rarely need my inhalers anymore.

Those days are long gone, my 30 years of suffering with asthma has come to an end. Prior to WWII, doctors routinely prescribed SSKI for asthma, bronchitis, COPD and other lung problems, up to 1.8 grams per day mixed in water. I now take 800mg a day of SSKI when I feel my lungs start wheezing, or if I start coughing. I make my own SSKI (1 Quart) using distilled water and mixing Potassium Iodide Crystals melted into the water, cost is only about $180. less than the price of 1-Dulera.. A quart of SSKI will last me YEARS.

I put 2 squirts of SSKI into a glass of water each evening. On rare occasions, I may still need to use my Ventolin a few times per year.

IMO, the drug companies hid & censored SSKI being used for lung problems because there was no money in it. I call the price of Dulera & Flovent LEGAL THEIVERY! SHAME ON THE DRUG COMPANIES! SHAME SHAME Greedy Thieves.
