The business of saying John the Baptist being Elijah reincarnated is one I would tap my finger on, as scripture negates the possibility of reincarnation-
Paraphrased 'for is is appointed for a man just once to live, and then judgement'
I do believe in the spiritual gifts/mantles/position/job of a prophet being passed down our shared from one person to the next though. In that sense John the Baptist did indeed carry on the mantle of Elijah's job, pointing the way to God (literally, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life)
And it is true, we are expected to seek spiritual maturity- a Christlike spirit, empowered in us by the discipline and guidance of the Ruach HaKodesh, holy spirit. Jesus took his days of fasting and testing in the desert for that very reason, was baptized and the holy spirit descended on him in the shape of a dove.
How else were his miracles accomplished? All the of the expressions were present in Him of the Trinity.
With none of the trash, sins, darkness of mind and spirit, or all that rot which hinders his disciples and the greater body of the ecclassia/council (church has such difficult concepts associated with it today... :(. ) today.
In trappers post I see him saying 'Jesus is not God the father', not denying Jesus' divinity. He is also pointing out how everyday the Greek name had become, in curses, etc. This is a valid point.
This is a question of the Trinity of the godhead.
