I use to have that bump for years. I developed vertigo where I couldn't sleep on my side or face down anymore. So after sleeping on my back only, the bump has almost disappeared. So I believe it is due to poor posture. Sleeping on my back has also helped with stiffness and problems turning my neck to the left.
