You name it I've tried it in terms of balms, vaseline, antifungals, calendula, coconut oil, lemon, perhaps there are more obscure things I haven't tried. I once lived on nothing but porridge and water, brown rice organic salmon and organic broccoli for 6 months, and excercised very regualarly, no effect. I don't deny that the skin is effectively toxic to moisture, in which case vaseline itself doesn't sound like the most effective of barriers to any moisture which is inescapably ever present in the mouth, particularly in the corners and when we sleep, is there something more durable yet totally non-toxic and safe that can be tried? I was even thinking of special effects make up glue designed for the lips as a barrier, but obviously safety is the most important, especially when sleeping. I so want to video me speaking and their comments and get independent views or make a complaint. Because I sit with my mouth open to prevent the skin turning mushy which is caused by moisture from mucous membranes when I keep my mouth shut, I leave it open a lot, so you can see my tongue more, but behind the teeth! I have tried aquaphor, after this if no reccomendations I will I guess go back to very long term and regular aquaphor, just it leaves me to date constant entire shedding on application and very noticeably unnaturally red lipstick style lips which look funny as opposed to current disturbing. Oh and I should say the 'white' line in my experience is not confined at all to ec sufferers, many normal people get broken down skin as gunk in the corners of their mouth, all skin breaks down, and I've know so many healthy folk with the most major white lines at times I've ever seen, the difference is they don't deterioirate to ec, they are at a stage where they have healthy regeneration or occasional minor normal dryness. I hide this and sometimes have relationships of sorts, it's normal for girls with healthy lips to have small bits of dryness or little bits that come off as can sometimes be seen after a kissing session, and no-one I have known has ever developed ec.
