Hi Earthlove,
Sorry, but there needs to be a 180 degree shfit in your thinking. BECAUSE your liver isn't functioning, you can't afford to take it slow. The liver does everything in the body, just about.
I have started to eat lots of beets and the liver loves them, the digestion is awesome. I just eat them roasted every night on a salad with some walnuts, etc. Artichokes are good too.
Simple foods like sweet potatoes, turnips, cabbage, etc. I think these are easy on the digestion when prepared simply and can help to detoxify.
Drink a glass of lemon water when you are feeling "livery", works wonders.
Drink a lot of beet and apple juice, you can buy it premade and jarred if you have to, it still works for me. You will see the detox reaction very fast here.
Raw protein is un-denatured. All wild animals and fish eat their meat raw. Think of plastic that gets melted down and is unrecognizable after heated, that is cooked protein to our bodies.
Tsetsi's flush is great, but I don't think it is a true flush like Clark or Moritz. I am taking a small portion of it daily, mainly for the raw lecithin and raw B vitamins. It also has choline and other raw proteins and fats like omegas. I get a cruelty free, organic brand, my liver loves it and I notice it calms my emotions.
Some people swear by liver extract, or raw calves liver if you can find it non-gmo and antibiotic free. Search on Gerson and how he used it at one time and actually juiced it (gross I know). You can also buy it in a tincture or pill, I believe. I may try that myself soon.
I wish you the best in all your healing. I would start flushing asap if it were me. :)
