I don't know for certain that Satan exists, but there seem to be many, many places in the Bible that write about Satan:
Rev. 20
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
A very interesting scripture, which I believe to be an alternate creation story:
Rev. 12
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
skipping down to
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
In my view, Revelation 12 is telling the story of how and why souls came to earth. We are all fallen angels. I know that most Christians would disagree with me and say this is heresy, but is it really so heretical? All Christians believe in the fall of man, meaning before the fall of man, man lived in the presence of God, which is to live not as man but as an angel. Satan deceived some of us and that caused us to have to come to Earth and either earn our salvation back into heaven through the grace of Christ or remain with Satan.
Now the question of is Satan a specific entity or just a word to refer to the general embodiment of evil? I don't claim to have a definitive answer to that, as most Christians do. In fact, it is interesting how many definitive answers Christians seem to have on things that are far from 100% clear from the scriptures. But there do seem to be a plethora of scriptures that mention Satan and the Devil as a specific entity or is there some alternate translation of the words Satan and Devil also? What are the original words used that we translate into Satan or the Devil?
