A local shop has "Nascent" Iodine for sale, but the ingredients show it as sodium iodide. Am I correct that it should be listed simply as Iodine and that having it bound to the sodium means it is not nascent iodine?

Is it most likely sodium Iodide that has been charged electrically?

The solution looked blue, if that makes a difference.
