Yes, fully agree with you on the dilemma with minerals, intake, imbalances and deficiency existing simultaneously with overabundance.

There seems to be a parallel here with the age- old misunderstanding which some consider debate on water supply - namely spring or well but probably tap / muni also - as a legitimate source of the proper form of minerals necessary for nutrition.

Mainstream and the attendant camp followers tethered to mainstream espouse intake of minerals in the form of silt as suitable for nutrition .... all the more reason to line big corp store shelves with frankenfood grown in denatured & depleted soil and subsequently fortified at the food factory.
