I'm having chronic lower back pain. If I'm sitting for an extended period of time it gets pretty painful.

The X-Ray shows that there's one gap between two spinal disks that is too small, the disks are almost touching. This was probably caused by an injury. The doctor said, that there isn't much they can't do about it. It's been like that for about 18 years now (I'm 29 now). When I have to work at the office for extended hours, it does get unbearable at times. The only thing that make me feel better is high physical activity and even lifting really heavy things doesn't make it any worse.

Is it possible to heal this condition?
Where do I start?
