You have many issues/systems to address.
It is fairly well established that diet does not affect cholesterol levels very much.
There is a theory backed by a little study that the body keeps cholesterol levels up when sex hormones are low. The body makes those and other adrenal cortex hormones from cholesterol as seen here. note dhea is not abbreviated.

pregnenolone and dhea are available as otc supplements in the US. In your situation I'd start with preg, maybe 10mg x2 or 3 per day. If you are make you might start with 6mg dhea to see how you tolerate it.
I'd then do followup testing--4x saliva cortisol & dhea, testosterone. If you cant afford a doctor the tests are available on line including directlabs.com and the following.

I'd expect people with adrenal cortex issues to do better with a solid amount of protein, vegetables and lower levels of fast burning carbs.
Be careful about relying on acid blockers over the long term!
I'd include a multivitamin/mineral twice per day, probably other other supplements if I knew more about your situation.
Vitamin C and B5 are useful for adrenals--more than is in a multi. I assume you'll want the buffered or other non-acidic form of Vit C.
I bet there is more than you are telling us here, probably including some mood issues or personality quirks. They are common with adrenal problems.
