Iron deficiency anemia is just one type of anemia (granted it's the most common). However, your friend could have an anemia as a result of vitamin B12 or Folate deficiency.

What do you mean by point system?

What is her Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, RBC?

Also, MCV, MCH, MCHC and RDW.

If you let me know, I can probably provide your friend with a better approach. Her iron stores could be fine and eating too much iron could result in iron overload.
