Thanks phelp, I'm already aware how harmful root canals can be. Did you experience any problems with root canals yourself?

I do believe that Dr. Mercola is right, it really makes sense to me. But the thing is, I'm already thinking about removing my root canal, but I am not sure if I should go for a zirconium implant or a bridge. I'm also considering to leave it as is, but if it might cause more problems, I'm more than willing to get rid of it ASAP.

About pulling the tooth:
Would pulling out the tooth be enough or is it necessary to remove some of the periodontal ligament?

1st solution:
Zirconium implants seems great, but I've heard that if you get one, there's still a micro-gap left around the implant, so bacteria can live there as well. It's just something that I've read on the forums, I'm not sure if it's true, but I really don't want to have the same bacteria that's in my root canal living in that gap. I've also heard that the implant goes in very deep, so the bacteria can get much closer to the jawbone and cause serious infections

2nd solution:
A bridge should be safer in general, but the teeth on either side of the gap would have to be ground down to posts. Also the jawbone would be exercised less in that particular area. It might be a good solution for some people, but it's the only bad tooth in my lower jaw, so I'm not sure if it's the best solution for me.

3rd solution:
I've also heard of composite bridgework, when the gap is filled with a bridge out of composite. I've read that this solution might be not as reliable, but I can't find much information about this one. Maybe someone of you guys have a composite bridgework done?

4th solution
Partial (uh that's not the nicest thing, reminds me of old people), but it's least intrusive and probably healthiest. I'm not sure if I'd go for this one, because it would be quite uncomfortable, but it is a possibility.

5th solution
Pull out the tooth and leave a gap. But the teeth are moving and I might have problems with my teeth and jawbone later in my life, right?

6th solution:
Keep the root canal...

Which path should I choose? Please share your thoughts.
