I am also 5'7" tall but I weigh 150lbs. I am in the same boat as you, I have to work and pay bills like most.

I am going to try fasting on weekends and eating during weekdays. Perhaps that may help.

IMO, I would not go for a surgery if it is benign. I would fast intermittently and see if there is a reduction in the tumor.
I have read a lot of reports about doing Castor Oil application every night on the tumor to shrink it. Check out Edgar Cacey Castor oil protocol.

I did this with my dog and her tumor went away in two days. In her case I was not able to apply heat to the area, but just gentle massage.

Also a lot of people take Serrapeptase for tumors and fibroids. Have you tried that? CZ has a forum on Serrapeptase.
