Apparently meds or physical substances only seem to have a temporary effect.

Is your cousin willing to work at his condition? So many I have worked with with BPD or Schizophrenia run like scared rabbits when faced with the possibility of actually recovering.

Too many just want some pill to make it all go away. Unfortunately meds usually offer only temporary control, but the curative rate is about that of placebo.
