That was also my first thought, but who knows what is actually happening.

It is probably just an increase in metabolic activity.

However, once you learn how to read properly, you will see that they measured urinary excretion not sweat, which indicates less probability that the cause was increased metabolic rate since urine volume is not highly correlated with metabolism.

I once knew an autistic kid that did sweat. You tend to overly generalize everything.

It could also be that mercury/lead/etc was liberated from fat stores, something that Iodine is actually known to do. But this is all speculation again. Is there a single real study done?

At least this is some piece of evidence no matter how weak and biased it is.

DUHHHHH on the part about fluoride. Up your game gina.

I am sure that other nutrients do detoxify or antagonize heavy metals better than iodine, so not sure why the Iodine cult likes to push this particular bit of strangeness. Better to just stick to its known properties like halogens and thyroid hormone stuff.
