It has that effect on some people and the opposite on others. I don't understand the discrepancy... A co-worker just yesterday was telling me that it's always made her a little constipated, so she tried increasing the dosage and it seemed to help, but it's only been a couple of days on the higher dose, so the jury is still out for her.

It definitely has a drying effect, so everyone who takes it should be drinking more water than usual.

Have you tried it with a mild senna tea, like Smoothe Move? I know it's not good to take on a regular basis, but I use it a few times a month when things get a little sluggish.

On a completely separate note, I had to quit giving it to my dog because his kidney levels got too high. They went down after being off it 1 month. It's disheartening because otherwise it was helping with his coat, diarhea and itchiness. I still take it though, when I remember...
