I've read that a colema board is the best substitute, and an enema would be another option, but not as good. I do take the magnesium oxide, but it can't really remove stones in the colon. I don't know about the charcoal. I did my first two flushes without a colonic and it was fine. Over time, though, I realized that I wasn't feeling too well without them.
