So I've had my mirena for about 11 months now, I got it in December 2013, about 2 months after having our 4th son. Shortly after getting it placed, my Depression tok a turn for the first (is still currently pretty bad). I have always suffered from severe clinical Depression but it has never been as bad as this. I chalked it up to adjusting to 4 kids and solo parenting, as my husband left for a deployment shortly after our son was born. I thought I was just overwhelmed with everything and that my hormones were still evening out from having my son and breastfeeding. I was on Zoloft and that had stopped working, so they had me try something else (I can't for the life of me remember what it was called but I want to say Celexa) and that made everything far worse. I am currently on Wellbutrin and it was working for a couple weeks and then things got really bad again and I started self harming and I have constant thoughts of just wanting to be done with life. I recently started researching mirena and Depression and I've stumbled across so many forums and blog posts about terrible side effects other have had and it made me sick. I have an appt on Friday to get this thing out of my body. I did a string check yesterday and I think I felt the string but I wasn't able to grab it with my finger. I also felt my cervix and it felt as though the IUD was pushing against my cervix, it just didn't feel right. At my appt, I'm going to demand that they do the silicon blood test to check my levels.

My issues since getting this thing have been;
terrible hip pain (it's only getting worse)
my thighs feel really sore, mostly at night and it makes it hard to sleep
fatigue
hair loss
worsening depression
joint pain (hips, fingers and knees)
period like cramping but I haven't had a period since Jan 2013
muscle spasms in my shoulder
trouble sleeping at night
unable to lose weight
bad irritability/mood swings
brain fog
pelvic pain
lower back pain
dizziness
vision issues (sometimes I have a hard time focusing on things)
nausea
bloating
acne
dry skin
sharp/stabbing pain in ovary area on both sides
increase in canker sores

Could these all really be linked to this little thing inside my uterus?
