no problem. :) It's not nearly as hard as some make it sound. One place here with a wealth of information is "alkaline/acid balance diet" and specifically a guy name "burnt_ice". he has helped me a lot lately as I have always been a big believer in being more "alkaline" and how it relates to health.
But essentially, the increase of water and daily cardio could be felt *immediately*. Giving up coffee/soda involved a bit of withdrawal but once it passed, I felt a lot better.
I have essentially shifted my body into a more alkaline oxygenated state, and feel best when I stay in such a place. When I drift over into being acidic, it takes a toll on my physical and mental health. AND I WAS SEVERELY DEPRESSED FOR A LOOOONG TIME! Sorry for yelling, just want to emphasize: Thought and self reflection are highly influenced by the current STATE OF HEALTH of the body. I had all sorts of self_defeating, obsessive compulsive thoughts when I was UNHEALTHY..
The L-Tryptophan helps me too, but I don't take it every day anymore. Every once in a while I go through a few bottles, taken daily, to balance things out though. This is simply what works for me. But at the beginning, I was taking it every day for a while and it helped tremdously to get me out of a dark hole.
L-Tryptophan is hard to find in the US and most people take 5HTP instead. 5HTP has not worked well for me though, so I order L-Tryptophan from Germany (pharmaceutical grade)
Honestly though, simply eating a ton of veggies and fruits, giving up the acidic stuff, staying hydrated and exercising all the time (and sticking to it!) will do more for you than any pill or supplement. :) Meditation is beautiful too, as is starting a "practice" of some kind.. yoga, tai chi, qigong, rowing, whatever. It helps to have something both physical and meditative at the same time in your life which you are continuously working on and achieving, building pride, etc. Such things can help make sense out of this madness and aid in remembering what a beautiful gift Life is.
