Pepe,

I'm not necessarily into numbers & I'm really not into debating. I only completed 4 days last week & lost 1 pound per day. Today is my second day & I have no intentions of weighing myself until I complete 3 weeks. Hopefully I can go a little longer. I'd also like to clarify that I never once said that Quivers did the Master-Cleanse for X amount of days "straight". In the article I read she broke it up into segments & after I believe 3 MC's had regained her health & achieved a healthy weight for her. I'm not on this board to condemn others for desireing weight-loss neither am I here to poo poo others who are trying to cure cancer, lupus, diabetes or fibromyalgia. I beleive that anything is possible. I don't care what the doctor's have to say.

Everyone's body is different & much more complex than what many doctors & health care practitioners would have you believe. I can only think that this is why you lost less than some others when you did the MC. Or perhaps in your strenuous bike work-outs you were building muscle, which we all know weighs more than fat & that was the reason why. I don't know as everyone's body is different. And when I mentioned, low caloric lifestyle/intake/diet, whatever you wish to call it, healthy whole foods are always to be the primary foods. Whole foods should be the primary foods in any one's lifestyle/diet regardless of their goals. I thought that was a given on a board such as this. Did you truly believe that I meant only eat 1/2 a log of Velveeta & 6 beers rather than a typical whole log & 12 beers? Let's be real.

My mentioning metabolic rate & low caloric intake for longevity is because Science has not yet unraveled the mysteries of the human body. Yet they usually act as if they have. And I know that a person who is 220 lbs & should weigh in the 145 llbs range is medically termed "morbidly obese". Whether you agree with what the medical communtiy has decided is your choice. But there are logical medical scientific reasons for the numbers. Does this mean that every human being must fit that criteria? Absolutely not. But in my opinion most people, and Ms.Quivers celebrity status excluded, is basically like most people.

As far as fasting, thousands of sages & monks have been fasting for centuries & I've never once read of any of them being malnourished, or becoming fat over night. I believe every religion teaches all things in moderation. Yet, they often use fasting as a health remedy, or for spiritual reasons. Anyway, who are we to judge members who are using the Master-Cleanse solely for weight loss purposes? Finally, many posts here include success stories of people sharing the "numbers" of how much weight they lost plus enthusiastic words of how great they feel & some members even convey a certain spiritual deepening found through fasting.

Since you have seniority here does that give you the right to judge? Maybe some members who "think" their main purpose in using the Master-Cleanse is specifically for weight-loss reasons will learn something much more valuable. As they fast other experiences will enlighten them in ways they never thought of. In this way perhaps they will come to find their bodies sacred & awesome. Maybe the MC protocol will lead them on a spiritual journey more intense then anything any guru, priest, or minister could teach them? I feel that this is highly likely as anything is possible. One need only to believe. And finding faith in oneself over science, doctors, gurus, fitness experts etc....etc....is the most healing & powerful cure of all.

Best Wishes & Take Care
