SoulSurvivor, Thank you very much for your reply and post. I'm sorry to hear that you also had the soul shattering experience/s of being enmeshed with a partner or partners who are, let's say, emotionally unstable.
Shortly after I posted, my husband, who had serious attachment issues, (for which I became the trigger for all sorts of self harming and unacceptable reactive behaviour during any conflict) became unwell, was suddenly diagnosed with terminal cancer and sadly passed away very soon after. Yes, I do think Its going to take a little while to grieve, recover and heal from the entire experience and his sudden passing.
I'm telling myself that everything in life happens for a reason and that life experiences happen FOR us and not TO us, as we often feel they do.
My husband is at peace now, so I have to learn to be and give myself the same. Perhaps, the experience was to bring me home to myself. To force me into partnering and loving myself. I've a lot of self and healing work to do, if I want to get well and thrive. Work in progress.
