Thanks everyone for the helpful info and encouragement. I need to be patient and take everything my doc says with a grain of salt.

Should I increase my companion nutrients? I'm currently taking 150 mg of Lugols a day along with 200 mg of Selenium, a B complex and Vitamin C. I haven't been good about the salt lately.
