This is how I would describe brain fog too... the only time i can ever remember this feeling was after the birth of my 4th child. I had a bit of PPD in the hospital, but when I came home it took a good 2 years for it to go away. With my other 3 children/births I had post partum euphoria... so this depressed state was very new and confusing to me.
What may have contributed was the fact that this pregnancy wrecked me. The extra estrogen caused cholestasis and my gallbladder turned to stone and bile was leaking out into my blood stream. My liver and gb were sluggish and my hormones were probably out of whack too.
But this goes to show how much basic liver functions can make or break you.
I liver flushed for 4 years.. at the time I didn't know of the benefits.. I was just trying to flush out stones. I'm not sure what made me sbap out of it, but the flushing has to play a part. 2 years of flushing and getting back into the gym put me back towards normal.
Also, what Hanna says about breads, I'm finding out now that they might not be good in any amounts.. sadly, because that's my favorite food. I've had a squeaky clean colon.. and in a 2 week period I was eating a lot of bagels and since it's fall, zucchini and pumpkin breads. I drank too much apple cider last week (lol) and induced a sort of Colon Cleanse (would this clean the liver too, maybe?) So, I went on with it and drank a half gallon of apple cider and was in the bathroom for 2 or 3 days. I was shocked by the junk coming out and the strings of mucoid plaque shaped like my intestines... considering I had a pristine looking cleanse 2 weeks prior! So I am convinced now more than ever that breads will junk up everything... your liver, your gut... you name it.
Our wheat supply isn't the same as it was years ago... so eating habits need to change.
Have you done colon and kidney cleansing too? I don't remember if you said or not.
If anyone has any info on apple cider fasting & cleansing, please weigh in with the pros & cons. I stumbled on it by accident... but before I recommend it to anyone, I'd like more info.
