Talking about your illnesses is not O/T when it concerns iodine! A lot of illnesses have as cause the Iodine deficiency somewhere.

Iodine will NOT trigger Hashimito's as long as abundant selenium is supplied alongside of it. Hashimoto's arises when too little selenium causes too little glutathione which in turn causes hydrogen peroxide build-up which in turn causes the body to produce anti TPO.

So it's selenium deficiency that triggers the Hashimoto's.

Giving a person who's deficient in tyrosine and/or Iodine either of the two will cause the thyroid to make more thyroid hormone. If this person is also deficient in selenium, this will then trigger Hashimoto's. Again, it's the selenium deficiency that's the problem.

Well, it's really the glutathione deficiency that's the problem. So optimise your glutathione levels. Selenium is an important part of glutathione and often the missing piece of the puzzle in glutathione production. But there are a lot of people, especially chronically ill ones, that are depleted in the other building blocks of glutathione.
