I am like that too, but not so much with males or mixed company... but with females I have panic problems.

Although "shyness" has plagued me all my life, I think my panic disorder around females [the opposite sex] has something to do with confidence too.

People don't understand that it doesn't matter how attractive we are, or how much we have to offer in a relationship, shyness is a big problem.

If I can force myself to make eye contact and start talking, I sound like an idiot. Every time that happens I lose more confidence.
