So, I've been saying that I have Ascaris for quite a while. A few times I've gone back and forth. I've absolutely seen one full roundworm in the toilet. But I was at a restaurant and had no means to grab it. Had I known the cost I would have just picked the suc*** up with my hands and shoved it in some toilet paper and put it in my purse. But hindsight . . .
Other times I thought it was tapeworm, because I had one really large one in my belly, just between my breasts, not in my abdominal cavity, but over it, hooked onto something, release, and grab on again. It was quite painful.
Well, Ascaris don't grab anything. But I've done the whole Prazi thing and that thing didn't budge. Well, I recently tried Moxidectin, and the thing (and a whole bunch of other things) released their bite all over my body. Yep, the things are blood suc***s, sucking on my blood vessels.
So I did a little research and there is a worm called "Large strongyles" that isn't supposed to infect humans, but has on occasion infected humans.
Of course the doctors swear that Ascaris don't live in the tissues, but I've also seen a few reports that they can. So that is what I was thinking it was. But, nope. These things are definitely latching on to my blood vessels and they are big and it hurts. (This explains my anemia. The larvae are the same thing that cause heart worm in dogs and it probably explains why my blood pressure dropped to 90 / 50 for no explainable reason and why my blood vessels are so large / inflamed. The people who have drawn my blood think it is like throwing a dart at the broad side of a barn.)
So I took the standard dose of Moxidectin (horse gel) and they released. Then in about 18 hours they reattached. So I did some reading and it specifically says (for horses) that for Large Strongyles and Ascaris, you have to double dose.
Now let me be clear, I also read that this drug peaks in 8 hours and it can stay in your system for up to 40 days, but sometimes only 20ish. Well, I didn't want to wait 20 days, as I'm being eaten alive here.
So two days after, I took the double dose.
Let me warn you, I had hallucinations with the double dose. My vision was significantly disturbed for about 24 hours. At the same time, they weren't wild hallucinations like nightmares or anything like that. It looked like my skin was moving and I was seeing blotchy colors. I was still thinking rationally. I mean I knew I was hallucinating and I wasn't worried about it. I was completely comfortable and just slept a lot.
What was most awesome is that the plethora of worms that had attached to my shoulder under my skin, released. Since them some have latched back on, but not near as many as before. Perhaps 20 - 30% of the normal count. The big boys are still hanging in there, though they did release for a while.
For a blessed 24 hours I think I was not getting sucked dry by these things.
I've done a lot of reading on this (and by no means am I an expert or recommending this. I admit to pure desperation and that this has significant risks.). It seems that Ivermectin works on the larvae of Large Strongyles, killing them for a good month or more. And Moxidectin may take a while to kill worms and because it stays in your body so long, it only needs to be taken once a month. Less worms are attached to my shoulder than they were 24 hours ago. I take that as a good sign. Supposedly it takes like 3 - 14 days for them to actually die.
I've also found there is one kind of horse Large Adult Strongyles that can't be killed by Moxidectin. But it can be killed by a 5 day double dose of Fenbendazole. So I'm going to be alternating the Moxidectin / Fenbendazole for a while to see how that treats me with periodic Ivermectin doses.
The Moxidectin has the biggest BIGGEST IMPACT on the large tissue helminths that I've felt so far from anything. Major huge wide gap between it and anything else. But lets not forget . . . I hallucinated. Not to be taken lightly peeps. But I felt worms from my head to my toes releasing. So it got to them all. It is the first thing I've really felt get to the worms under my skin on my back.
Cross your fingers for me.
Just to be clear, when I say I have large worms, I'm estimating that i have a few that are almost finger thickness. Big old bad mama's. They actually move my flesh when they are thrashing around.
One more thing. I felt like I had a blockage today so I took a bunch of Papaya enzymes. Like 30 of the Now brand. That got things moving again.
P.S. The first single dose of Moxidection seems to just really piss these guys off and set them to munching on me with greater fervor when the initial knock out wore off. But things calmed down a bit after the double dose.
So if you have biting, do some research on Strongyles. (both large and small kinds.)
