I hope my hearing comes back soon. It's crazy how hearing is important for everyday things that don't include conversation. I feel less aware of my surroundings (was that the door? Is my cell ringing? Is the water boiling? Is a car coming from behind?). And I can still hear from one ear. I understand better why deaf kids have a harder time relating to others and feeling included. I always had a lot of empathy for them but now I have a tiny bit of understanding from experience.
