Tayto, you can do that and try a gram SSKI +300mg Lugol for 2 weeks. trapper has warned against impurities in DIY SSKI but 2 weeks of 0,01% impurities (or whatever % there can be in an ACS/USP/Reagent grade KI) won't really harm you and by the time you realize if SSKI is good for you or not, you can then start looking for purest sources.

That's what I would do.
