It is interesting how much things have changed. I read my first college level book on microbiology in 1958 and at the time, Staph aureus was considered to be innocuous. I have cultured it in my lab many times since then.
In late 2006, I had a sonoplasty done on one of my sinuses to see if it could reduce my sleep apnea http://snoringandsleepapnea.info/ . As a result, I developed a nasty sinus infection that even Cipro could not get rid of. The bright golden color was a solid indication that it was Staph aureus and since Antibiotics , including Cipro did not work, likely MRSA. I used a ParaZapper MX and it was gone within a couple of hours. ParaZapper MX is not sold any more as we have better models.
I am quite sure that it is much harder to reach in the bone and that is a problem that I definitely would not want. If I ever get such an infection today, I would certainly grab the MY and use it. Just my choice.
