age, diet has a say in this; but the high / sedated feeling may be an underlaying bipolar. A little lithium may help this. Together with iodine..
The sore joints are typical of hypo thyroid, also magnesium deficiency.

Still we know little about your age,doings,diet, supplements. Many have claimed that Iodine caused this or that (me too!) -but when you go into the matter, like quitting for 4 months, one see that it cannot possibly be so; as the Iodine is out within 2-3 days.
