After having experienced all your daughter did as a child and adult, I empathized with you. I was sent to specialist for each symptom by my internal med doc. Finally, I did my own research. Everything pointed to low functioning thyroid. After the internist gave two thyroid tests, one year apart, and both within 'normal' ranges, I found a new physician. This one listened to my long history, smiled at me and said I was a poster child for hypothyroidism. She further said my 'norm' was not the typical norm, and explained how many are undiagnosed due to inaccurate lab ranges.
Don't give up! I started taking first a synthetic replacement, then switched to desiccated pig thyroid. After taking about one year to adjust the dosage to a therapeutic level, I feel myself again!Look at Mary Shomon's very informative website. She is one of the best for keeping up on the latest research, and advocacy.
