Hey all. So..I'm fairly certain I have adrenal fatigue, but I honestly have no idea where to start.
Here's a little info:
I'm 19. Unable to get a job because of all the symptoms. Not able to attend school. I live with my mom who is single. She doesn't make much money, so it's difficult to afford any treatment.
As long as I can remember, going as far back as elementary school, I would be super shy, exhausted, fatigued, and saw floaters and whatnot.
In 6th grade I started playing with yourself, spanking the monkey and never stopped until about Junior/Senior year of high school. I would do it up to 3 times a day. I've discovered that can cause a lot of issues. I also barely ate anything. I was anorexic for a couple years, which then turned into a binge eating disorder where I would binge on sugary sweets up to 4-5 times a week. Only now am I able to control my binge eating and my playing with yourself, spanking the monkey.
I've had IBS related symptoms since 3rd grade, constant and chronic constipation. At this point, I'm always constipated and unable to go at all without a load of medications. I'm currently taking Linzess for it, as well as either stimulant laxatives or osmotics to go with it.
I've been to an endocrinologist and he did some blood work. I have low electrolytes, low thyroid, and low testosterone. My sodium is low, magnesium fair, and I can't remember my potassium.
I'm always fatigued unless I eat chocolate, drink caffeine, or have some other stimulant. Otherwise I feel like absolute and utter crap - to the point where I can't function AT ALL. I don't know how to even think, really.
I get super restless and have anxiety.
Daytime sleepiness - but vividly awake at night, until about 2am.
I have a hard time sleeping at night, wake up every couple of hours. I take L-Tryptophan, 1 gram, to help me sleep at night. It -does- help.
My body twitches all over the place, and I get random irregular heartbeats, dizziness, nausea, and shortness of breath.
About 4 months ago, I had a 7 day long migraine that I believe was caused by low blood flow to my head, as people could literally see it pulsate. It was the most pain I think I've ever been in.
I'm depressed, have constant mood changes, irritable, extremely forgetful, have a terrible time concentrating, and have a ton of brain fog. I can study something for a week and still barely remember it. I have a terrible time communicating verbally and getting any words out. Annunciating is very difficult.
I don't have a low sex drive - a lot of my dreams are still pretty sexual, and I still have the urge to release it, although I try my hardest not to, as I believe it's bad for me.
Not being to help my mom out in paying for anything and feel like a complete moocher makes me very stressed out and guilty all the time, I feel so bad for it. I feel so useless and terrible. I have a passion to help people, and I feel so stupid that I can't.
I get headaches almost everyday, and my teeth constantly hurt. My gums are receding. Probably from all the Sugar I binged on for two years, but I'm eating fairly clean now. A lot of fish, paleo friendly meat, veggies, and fruit. A few not-so paleo foods such as white rice, brown rice, Evol. Burritos/frozen meals, and Amy's organic meals. I also eat gluten free bread and peanut butter.
I' m constantly bloated and burping and never really feel like eating, but try to get at least 1,800-2,000 calories a day. I'm 5'8" and weigh about 145 pounds.
I try to go for walks everyday, mostly to help with the constipation. Sometimes they really make my legs hurt.
I tried to go for a run yesterday - not a good idea. My chest, stomach, and everything just felt like it imploded and cramped up so bad. My EVERYTHING just aches, more than usual, today, and I'm more constipated than usual, and just feel like blah.
If I go to bed later than 10pm and wake up earlier than 8 or 9, I can barely function, which makes it difficult to be able to make it to doctor's appointments or go grocery shopping, since my mom works 2nd shift and I don't have a car.
My body always feels tense, and I never really feel relaxed.
Deodorant causes my armpits to have rashes.
There seems to be water stuck that swishes around just underneath my right ribcage, which, by the way, also seems to be a bit mal-formed. It sticks out a bit.
My legs are always seemingly restless and I have to be moving them because they hurt. My wrists, shoulders, knees, fingers, thumbs, and ankles pop all the time. My shins and ankles and feet hurt a lot, as well as my wrists, forearms, biceps, and shoulders.
It's almost impossible to get comfortable. I can barely keep proper posture.
I see floaters and flashes of light in my eyes.
I'm very sensitive to light.
When I cry, my snot is very thick..not..runny like it should be. It's hard to describe, but it just doesn't feel right. It kind of gets stuck, if that makes sense.
Sometimes when I burp, some vomit comes up. Same when I sneeze.
My eyes get dry very quickly when exposed to A/C or any air current.
I'm constantly clearing my throat. Sometimes I have difficulty swallowing.
My left eye, in the white part, has a random red splotch on it that comes and goes various days.
Very rarely there is a burning feeling when I pee. This doesn't happen often, but it still happens.
Sometimes when I stand up it feels like all the blood either rushes out of my head, or to it, I'm not sure, but I get light-headed and dizzy - kind of like being dehydrated.
My abdomen hurts about once or twice a week because of the bloating/constipation.
I do get cravings for Sugar a lot.
It's hard to complete a thought and be coherent.
I'm planning on going to a nutritionist this next week to help find a meal-plan that would be good for me. We might do the LEAP-MRT test. Has anyone heard of it or tried it? I'm so sick of not being able to poop..do you suggest I stick with the nutritionist? It's expensive, and if you think it's unnecessary, I don't want to spend the money on it.
What course of action does anyone have to suggest for me? I really don't know where to go from here...I don't have much money to throw away on vain pursuits..I feel so lost and confused.
Here are the supplements I tend to take daily:
Lactoferrin 250mg
Cod Liver Oil (on days that I don't eat salmon)
Vitacost Synergy multi-vitamin
Probiotic 15/35
Tri-Phase Detox (given to me by my endocrinologist)...does anyone know if this is effective?
Magnesium Citrate (200-800mg..depending on the day)
Linzess in the morning 290mcg
Renew Life Constipation STOP (although I plan on stopping this as it causes pain, and I know of other means to get me to go that don't hurt)
Milk of magnesia (depends on the day)
Magnesium Citrate Saline solution (depends on the day)
Emergen-C (depends on the day..take whenever I start feeling irregular heartbeat..it sometimes helps calm it down)
Real Salt - try to put on foods, and also sometimes just put some on my tongue and wash it down with water

What I tend to eat on any given day:
Canned salmon - try buy wild caught when I can
85%-90%-100% Dark Chocolate - make me feel a lot better
Gluten free bread with organic peanut butter or non-organic cashew butter
Broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and other misc veggies
Frozen organic burritos/frozen meals
Gelatin grass-fed powder for protein and glycine amino acid
Organic Extra virgin coconut oil
white rice
lots of apples and peaches, a couple bananas a week (generally wait for them to get really yellow/brownish)
red potatoes
grass-fed Kerrygold imported butter
grass-fed beef
Applegate farms sausage, pepperoni, and deli meats
Brita filtered water
green tea
black tea
herbal tea
organic and/or omega-3 and/or farmer's market/pastured eggs (although I think I have allergies as they seem to make me feel more constipated..unless I'm just eating too many at once)
pollock and other types of fish that are low in mercury and high in selenium
extra virgin olive oil

I -try- to get to bed by 10, but it doesn't always happen..I definitely can tell when it doesn't. I also try to sleep in until 8, but I usually have to get up a little bit after, as I usually have to help out with stuff before my mom leaves to go to work.
