Other alternatives for cystitis are salt, loads of it with water. + Vit C several grams. Borax up to half a level teaspoon with loads of water drank throughout the day.
Essential oils, painted outside the urethra, also on the belly below the navel, even taken internally (used in some european countries, taken in capsules; safest is to use mixed a carrier oil like olive or coconut)
If all of them are taken same day, I estimate short time (hour or two) before the pain subsides.

Before I knew about Iodine / had cystitis once or twice a year I used the essential oils; it took the pain away in a few hours.
Hot baths too.

I never travel without a small medical kit like this; It has saved me and my travel companions so many times!
